JANUARY 28, 2024 – – – The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series season for the #18D team kicked off in a big way from January 25-27 in the annual running of the ‘Super Bowl of Racing’ at Golden Isles Speedway near Brunswick, Georgia.  In Thursday night’s opener, which shelled out a $10,000 winner’s check, Daulton Wilson clicked off the sixth quickest time in Group B during qualifying prior to securing a victory in his loaded heat race.  The Fayetteville, North Carolina ace then started sixth and finished ninth in the 40-lap main event to close out the evening.

Following a rain-out of Friday’s $12,000 to win show, a whopping $25,000 payday was on the line for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series competitors on Saturday at GIS.  Daulton toured the 4/10-mile oval eleventh fastest in Group A during the time trial session and later grabbed the third transfer spot through his heat race.  “Big Perm” then picked off a trio of competitors during the contest to leave the greater Brunswick area with a twelfth place effort.  Complete results from the ‘Super Bowl of Racing’ can be located online by logging onto www.lucasdirt.com.
