Daulton Wilson Transfers into Dirt Late Model Dream; Sixth at Kokomo

JUNE 11, 2024 – – – It was a hectic stretch for Daulton Wilson and JRR Motorsports from June 6-10 with high-profile events in both Ohio and Indiana. Up first was the 30th Annual ‘Dirt Late Model Dream at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, which kicked off on Thursday night with a $25,000 to win preliminary program. Daulton went second quickest in Group A during qualifying prior to running second in his heat race. The Fayetteville, North Carolina standout then slipped to a twelfth place performance in the 50-lap feature event.

After watching the second prelim show on Friday, Daulton vied for the whooping $100,030 top prize on Saturday evening in the ‘Dirt Late Model Dream’ grand finale. In front of a huge crowd, he finished fourth in his stacked heat race prior to grabbing the third and final transfer spot through his B-Main. Daulton then started shotgun on the field in the 100-lap crown jewel headliner and was ultimately paid for a twenty-second place showing.

Following a day off on Sunday, it was back to work for the #18D team on Monday at Kokomo Speedway. The XR Super Series sanctioned a $15,000 to win event, which drew 18 competitors to the Kokomo, Indiana facility. Daulton posted the fifth fastest lap overall during time trials prior to finishing second in his heat race and sixth in the 50-lap main event. “Big Perm” trailed only winner Devin Moran, Ryan Gustin, Bobby Pierce, Tyler Erb, and Jason Feger at the checkers.
