FEBRUARY 4, 2024 – – – With “Speedweeks 2024” in full swing, Daulton Wilson and JRR Motorsports invaded both Ocala Speedway in Ocala, Florida and All-Tech Raceway in Ellisville, Florida from January 30-February 3. At Ocala, a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series specials were held at the former Bubba Raceway Park and a $10,000 top prize was up for grabs on each occasion.
On Tuesday, Daulton placed third in his heat race, but a lap 19 incident during the 40-lap feature helped drop him to a twentieth place effort. In Wednesday’s finale at Ocala, Daulton won his heat race in preliminary action before slipping to fourteenth at the unfurling of the checkered flag in the 40-lap affair.
The dirt-slinging competition then quickly shifted to All-Tech Raceway over the weekend for two more Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series shootouts. With a $12,000 winner’s check on the line on Friday night, Daulton placed fourth in his heat race, won his B-Main, and later blitzed past eleven competitors during the 50-lap main event en route to a solid eighth place showing. On Saturday evening in the $15,000 to win grand finale, the Fayetteville, North Carolina native won his heat race to earn the pole position for the 50-lapper before finishing an impressive runner-up behind only victor Tim McCreadie!
